BENEFITS OF CONSUMING ALOE VERA IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE
Aloe Vera Barbadensis, (a.k.a., - Aloe Vera)- a succulent plant species has been Nature’s gift to living beings as a medicinal plant as far back as ancient Egyptian Civilization.
There is very clear, scientific proof for why Aloe Vera is so beneficial. The sheer weight of nutrients—as we’ve mentioned frequently—makes Aloe Vera both potent in use and diverse in application. It is the synergy between these various nutrients and compounds that is the key to the way Aloe Vera functions so proficiently.
Vitamins and minerals are some of the most basic and most fundamentally important nutrients needed for the human body. They essentially protect the immune system, aid in normal growth and physical development, and give your organs the impetus they need to do their jobs.
Right from skin problems to digestion issues, Aloe Vera is a go-to remedy due to its exceptional healing capabilities. The spiky succulent, grown in sub-tropical climates of Africa, is vividly known for its gel and juice containing potential health benefits, as follows:
Antioxidising and Antibacterial Features- Both Antioxidants and Antibacterial features in Aloe Vera are important as they help protect body cells against free radicals which may play a role in getting the body exposed to several kinds of diseases.
Relief from Sunburn- Sources claim that Aloe Vera is essential to calm a sunburn especially after the skin gets exposed to the sun. A cooling effect of Aloe Vera gel helps reduce the burning effect and itchiness caused by the burn.
Decreasing blood sugar levels- It is claimed that Aloe Vera consumption for consecutive two weeks can help lower the blood sugar levels especially among people with low/moderate risk of diabetes which might have a possibility to convert into an increased risk of heart disease. Blood pressure is controlled by the balance of calcium, magnesium, and potassium in relation to sodium. Should these ratios be balanced – a large improvement in high blood pressure will occur quickly. Aloe Vera also contains vitamin C and salicylic acid, which will help dilate and strengthen capillaries, assisting blood to flow more freely, and reduce blood pressure.
Arthritis- is common in elderly people and describes a condition in which the cartilage in the joints wears away, inducing pain and stiffness mainly in weight-bearing joints. Rheumatoid arthritis affects the whole body and not just certain joints. It is an inflammatory disease and joints become inflamed. Aloe Vera is widely known to reduce inflammation and taking it orally will help with both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It is important to note, that for best results, Aloe Vera should be taken both orally and topically it can be applied directly to the affected joints to reduce pain.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)- refers to shifting abdominal pain with alternating constipation and diarrhoea. This is sometimes described as irregular or disturbed bowel function. In earlier times it was called ‘spastic colon’. Aloe Vera has a tonic effect on the intestinal tract and can allow for reduced transit time in the bowel. Very important to note that Aloe Vera can improve the bacterial flora with a decrease in the presence of yeasts and a reduction in pH – so with Aloe Vera, this is normalised naturally. Tests conducted to confirm that bowel putrefaction was reduced and protein digestion and absorption improved with the ingestion of Aloe Vera.
Immune deficiency Conditions- Aloe Vera has been shown to be a compound that may help neutralize HIV by transforming the protein envelope, so it cannot invade human cells. This could help stop the virus from multiplying in the body and thereby helps to keep the immune system stronger. Aloe also helps the absorption of vitamins and other minerals and nutrients. Additionally, it lines the abdominal cavity and has been shown to reduce abdominal pains commonly associated in HIV patients.
However, it is also important to remember that the nutrients are present in the raw plant. For them to actually be of use and for the maximum benefit to be obtained from them, we must pay attention to how the plant is cultivated and grown, the care with which it is harvested, and the technology behind the processing.
At Africa Caribbean Aloe Products (ACAP), we grow Aloe Vera under optimal conditions with organic methods, hand weeding and hand harvesting of leaves, and are processed in less than a few hours after harvest. We are Ecocert, NOP, Kosher, Halal, ACSA, and HACCP certified.
